Today’s spotlight falls on Nicole Gallardo, Partner & Chief Creative Officer of Gallardo Labs, living in Ft. Lauderdale.

Why did you choose to start a digital agency? Prior to building the team here at Gallardo Labs, I had spent several years on both client and agency sides. I found myself empathizing with both types of organizations and inherently identifying some major pain points and huge areas of opportunity related to the creative process from each perspective.

Because of the constantly evolving digital landscape, companies have to be more responsive, nimble, and innovative than ever.  Internal marketing teams naturally struggle with this. Usually, organizations outgrow the size of their creative team, have trouble finding talent in their corporate HQ location, or need a temporary initiative handled (like a redesign or rebrand) outside of the internal team’s important day-to-day tasks.

What makes Gallardo Labs different? I think our Content Strategist, Alicia, summed it up perfectly for me one day while we were discussing this topic. She said, “We are a digital agency that is actually digital.” It couldn’t be truer. We use today’s technology, tools, and applications to break boundaries (global, agency standards and level of expertise). We all work remotely and are not tied to specific cities when working with clients or searching for talent.

This means that we are fluid and diverse enough to partner with a company anywhere on the globe and we only hire the best talent, worldwide – location is irrelevant. We work with our various time zones and not against them. The fact that we operate around the clock means that we are technically always open…and yet each one of us can have the career-life balance that is necessary to produce our best work.

Project you’re most proud of? It’s hard to pick just one and some of my most favorite projects are ones that we are just finishing now so we can’t talk about them yet.  eCommerce and the tech space are where we have seen the most magic happen lately. I, personally, would love to partner with more game-changing digital service app companies like Uber or Spotify.

I think the team and I produce some of our best work on larger brand initiatives, strategies & storytelling, responsive web or app redesigns, and creative workshops. The most important and exciting factor for me is when we get to work with partners who are passionate about their brands and are open to exploring new possibilities with us.

Nicole is an accomplished Creative Director, UX Designer, and team builder who has over 14 years of experience in helping brands and professionals achieve their true potential. Nicole’s repertoire spans the worlds of design, technology, community development, craft, fashion, and fine art. She prides herself in thought leadership, global collaboration, and solving complex challenges. After receiving her BFA from the International Academy of Design and Technology in Chicago, IL, she has since worked for agency and internal teams to lead digital transformations for high profile brands including Norwegian Cruise Line, Chrysler, Target, Fridababy, Simon Pearce, MDLIVE, Entic, John Deere, Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line, Quicken Loans, and AARP.
